One of the most iconic first bars in HipHop is "Gah'damn I'm glad y'all set it off...". That was the first bar of Ice Cube's "No Vaseline" - his highly destructive diss track, aimed at his former friends and group N.W.A. N.W.A. still had Dr. Dre, MC Red, Easy E, and DJ Yella. The foursome was no match for Ice Cube. This was, and still is, HipHop's only 1 versus 4 rap battle. Ice Cube used all 5 minutes and 15 seconds to dismantle his former rap buddies one by one. He even included their manager in the track. One could say, that would make this a 1v5 rap battle but who's counting. All in all "No Vaseline" is a top 3 diss track of all time and has held that moniker for well over 30 years. Give it a listen to get a dose of real emcee venom.
