6/28 "The Rebel" Unisex Tee
Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" is without a doubt a culture defining classic. Released in 1988, it contained an energy that terrified those that hate to see positive movement in Black Culture. This album spoke of revolution and unity in a way that had not been approached at the time. Chuck D. and Flava Flav showcased a musical hurricane steeped in Pro-Black teachings and enlightenments. It was designed to wake the Culture up. They accomplished this at a very high level. Chuck D.'s heavy vocal tone, and raw lyrical style, made him the perfect vessel to deliver the message of the movement. "Rebel Without a Pause" went at the establishment, all the way down to the radio stations. It shined the first light on radio directors that only wanted to push what was considered to be negative music to the youth. We salute P.E. for standing on the frontline for the love of The Culture.
Their words are art. They are the soundtrack to our lives. We encapsulate them, like a single stem rose, and present them to you. 30 days of music love and appreciation.
